Diamond Guide

Everything you need to know about selecting the perfect diamond — from the 4Cs to shape, cut and brilliance.

The Foundation

The 4Cs of Diamonds

Every diamond is unique, and evaluated on four universal characteristics — Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat. Understanding these helps you choose a stone that is both beautiful and exceptional value.

Cut
Cut

The most critical factor. Cut determines how brilliantly a diamond reflects light. Grades range from Excellent to Poor — always prioritise Excellent or Very Good.

Colour
Colour

Graded D (colourless) to Z (light yellow). For white metals, D–F is ideal. For yellow or rose gold settings, G–J offers excellent value without visible difference.

Clarity
Clarity

Measures inclusions and blemishes. Grades range from FL (Flawless) to I3. VS1–VS2 diamonds are eye-clean and offer outstanding beauty at accessible prices.

Carat
Carat

Carat refers to weight, not size. A well-cut 0.9ct diamond can appear larger than a poorly cut 1ct. Pair carat with excellent cut for maximum impact.

Colour Scale

Diamond Colour Grades

The GIA colour grading scale is the global standard. Our team can help you find the best colour for your chosen metal and setting style.

Grade Classification Description Best Paired With

Clarity Scale

Diamond Clarity Grades

All natural diamonds contain inclusions formed during their creation deep within the earth. Clarity grades assess how visible these characteristics are.
